This is what to do when the dates are not recognized  while manually importing your bank statement.

  1. Open your excel document
  2. Select the date column
  3. Format the column as date as shown below
  4. Similarly, select the amount, or credit and debit columns and format as Number.
  5. Save and close the document. 
  6. Try importing again.
