Step-by-step: Recreate your Outlook profile


1. Close Outlook

Make sure Microsoft Outlook is fully closed.

Also check Task Manager and ensure Outlook is not running in the background.


2. Open Mail settings

Press:

Win + R

Type:

control mlcfg32.cpl

Press Enter

This opens the Mail setup window.


3. Open profiles

Click:

Show Profiles


4. Create a new profile

Click:

Add

Enter a name, for example:

OutlookNew


5. Add your email account

  • Enter your Microsoft 365 email address
  • Follow the automatic setup
  • Complete the process

6. Set the new profile as default

Select:

Always use this profile

Choose your new profile (e.g. OutlookNew)

Click OK


7. Open Outlook

Start Outlook again.

Allow time for your mailbox to fully load and sync.
