This guide explains how to connect your SleekTech data to an AI assistant - Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or another - so you can ask questions about your portfolio in plain English. This feature is currently in Beta and is read-only: the AI can read your data and answer questions, but it cannot change anything in SleekTech.

Step 1 - Get Your API Key

An API Key is a secure code that lets an AI assistant connect to your SleekTech data. You only need to create it once. Note that only Admin users can create an API key - if you are not an admin, please ask your administrator.


  • In SleekTech, click your User Profile in the top-right corner of the screen.
  • The User Profile window opens.
  • Open the API Keys tab.
  • Click Create API Key, then choose Open API as the provider and confirm.
  • Copy the key immediately and keep it somewhere safe (for example, a password manager) - for security it is shown only once and cannot be retrieved again. If you lose it, simply delete it and create a new one.


Important - Keep Your API Key Private

Please read this carefully before sharing your key with anything.


  • An API key gives full read access to all of your data. It is not limited by user permissions - it can see everything in your account, regardless of what any individual user is allowed to see.
  • Anyone who has the key has this same full access. Treat it like a master password.
  • Only enter it into trusted AI tools that you control. Never post it publicly, email it, or share it in a message.
  • If you think a key may have been seen by someone else, delete it straight away on the API Keys tab and create a new one. This instantly stops the old key from working.

Step 2 - Connect Your AI Assistant

The address you connect to is the same for every assistant:

  • https://connect.sleek-tech.co.uk/mcp

The general process is the same everywhere: add a new connector, paste the address above, and when a SleekTech sign-in page appears, paste your API key to authorise it. The steps below show how to do this in Claude.


Connecting to Claude

  • Open Claude (a paid Claude plan is required to add connectors).
  • In the left menu, click Customise.
  • In the left navigation bar, click Connectors.
  • Click the + button and select Custom Connector from the dropdown.
  • In Name, enter SleekTech Connector.
  • Paste https://connect.sleek-tech.co.uk/mcp into the Remote MCP server URL field, leave the other fields empty, click Add, then Continue.
  • A SleekTech sign-in page appears - paste your API Key and choose Authorise.
  • In a new chat, make sure the SleekTech Connector is switched on, then start asking questions.


Connecting to ChatGPT, Gemini or Another Assistant

Similarly, you can connect ChatGPT, Gemini or any other AI assistant that supports connecting to MCP. The process is the same everywhere: in that assistant's settings, add a new custom (or remote MCP) connector, paste https://connect.sleek-tech.co.uk/mcp, then authorise it with your API Key when the SleekTech sign-in page appears.

The exact menu names and availability differ between assistants and change over time, so please follow that assistant's own instructions for adding a custom or remote MCP connector. A paid plan is usually required.


Step 3 - Example Questions to Try

Once connected, ask in plain English - and keep going with follow-up questions:


  • "Did any of my properties need a boiler repair more than three times in the last six months?"
  • "Which property cost me the most in supplier bills last year, and what was it spent on?"
  • "Show me any properties where I'm spending more on suppliers than I'm collecting in rent."
  • "Which of my tenants fell behind on rent this year, and by how much?"
  • "How much have I paid a particular supplier across my whole portfolio?"
  • "Which of my properties have a mortgage maturing in the next 12 months?"
  • "How much VAT was on my supplier invoices last quarter?"

Please Use With Care

  • AI assistants can occasionally misunderstand a question or answer incorrectly. Always confirm anything important directly in SleekTech before relying on it.
  • This feature is read-only - the AI cannot change, add or delete any of your SleekTech data.
  • It is in Beta, so the range of questions it can answer is limited for now and will keep growing.
